How to clean Delker countertops:

Delker countertops by Argenta Cerámica are easy to clean, because dirt and food residues cannot penetrate the material, guaranteeing a thorough level of cleanliness. In most cases, wiping the counter down with a damp cloth should suffice.

Food stains or those caused by other common substances used in the kitchen are easy to remove. These include lemon juice, vinegar, olive oil, wine, coffee, etc. Delker surfaces stand up to harsh cleaning products like oven cleaners.

Delker is completely heat resistant, one of its great advantages compared to other types of products. Coming into contact with hot pots or pans does not damage or discolour the surface. Below is a list of a few important things to keep in mind:

Be careful with the edges:

Delker is a high-performance material that is very resistant to everything from stains and scratches to heat, UV radiation and more. However, do take special care with the material’s edges. Avoid exposing the edges to blows or other strong impacts to prevent chipping.

Cracks or scratches from ceramic knives:

Keep in mind that ceramic knives can scratch all Delker surfaces regardless of finish. The same is true for other brands in the same product category and other categories.

Avoid cutting directly on Delker surfaces; use a cutting board or similar instead.

Do not hit Delker surfaces with solid and/or heavy objects. This could potentially crack or even break the Delker countertop (the edges are the most susceptible to physical damage).

Everyday cleaning of Delker:

Clean Delker with warm water. You can also use a household cleaner (using the amount recommended by the manufacturer). Avoid products containing hydrofluoric acid or similar. Make sure to rinse the surface thoroughly with warm water and dry it with a cloth or paper towels.

Use a microfibre cloth (to remove dust) for everyday cleaning purposes. Feel free to clean the surface every day if necessary. Argenta recommends wiping up spills as soon as possible. The sooner the surface is cleaned and dried, the easier it is to prevent or remove any stains.

Argenta Cerámica does not recommend the use of any waxes, oil-based soaps, sealers or other treatments (water-repellent, oil-resistant coatings) on Delker countertops. They are unnecessary. Many commercially available household cleaners contain waxes or shine-enhancing additives, which can leave an oily film on the surface after several washes.

Important cleaning recommendation:

When applying any kind of cleaning product, mark the stain you wish to remove with a wax crayon. If after treating the stain, it is still there but visibly lighter or diminished, you will know the treatment is working and therefore the right choice. If the stain displays no change, try a different cleaning agent. Apply the treatment until the stain has disappeared completely.

What kind of cleaner to use based on the type of stain or residue:

Certain stains or residues cannot be eliminated by regular cleaning products, and their removal will require specific procedures.

The amount of time a substance remains on the surface makes an important difference (never let a substance seep into the surface), which is why it is best to clean the affected area as soon as possible. Doing so will prevent the substance from drying, making it easier to clean.
